However it turns out leaps of faith tend to work out for the best sometimes.  With flavor names like "Diva" and "High Maintenance" these candles are fun as well as yummy to smell. They make great gifts and are very affordable.

Summer of Splendor

As the days start to grow shorter and we florists start catching our breath from the busy wedding season. It's nice to recap on what summer trends have gone by this year.  We've had some wonderful opportunities to be a part of each of our brides wedding days. It has been very interesting to see the amount of DIY projects and Pinterest influence throughout the wedding world. Gone are the days of the standard wedding decorations and ideas. Each bride takes their time making memorable and unique decorations, favors and props to make their special day unique.  Mason jars have been very popular in the past, but this year they have really exploded! Almost every weekend we have at least one sometimes two brides who have mason jars for decorations. Some of the mason jars have even had ribbons, lace and jute decorating the outside! We love it! The "vintage" feel has also been very popular this year. Brides love lace and texture. We've done brooch bouquets and boutonnieres. Really the sky is the limit when it comes to planning a wedding. We are so thankful to our photographer friends for sharing their photos of our brides with us. Please enjoy a sampling of all of our work!

Heather + Kevin - Wedding Video Trailer - Life Productions

The Lisa Foster Floral Design Crew is itching to see all of the photos from one of our June 2nd weddings. Heather, was a bride who knew exactly what she wanted for her outdoor June wedding. Every detail was thought out and nothing was overlooked. From the vignettes on the tables, the whiskey barrel bar and the lemonade truck, this wedding was a Pinterest Junky's dream!
We can't wait to see the pictures from Julie Roberts Photography!!!
The purpose of this post is actually to share Heather and Kevin's wedding video trailer! Life Productions did an amazing job of putting together this video so we can only imagine what the entire wedding video will be like. Wonderful work to pull everything together! We love working with you all and look forward to the next wedding together.
Enjoy!

NEW Ceremony Ideas

We love traditions because, well they are traditions but every now and then it's nice to mix things up! Thats why we flower shop girls love to do the unique and different flower designs. Recently, we have met brides who want to mix up the ceremonial-symbolisms that are used during their weddings. Here are a few of those ideas! Instead of unity candles, sand mixing or communion here are some ideas that can be just as meaningful.

First, instead of having all girls stand on one side and all guys on the other have your bridal party stand boy, girl, boy girl.  This helps spread your color across the front (which helps with flower costs). Also, during your wedding ceremony the officiant/minister can say "if the wedding party would please join hands (or not) and form a circle we will pray for the couple". Often times at this time the parents of the bride and groom will also join in and this becomes the Circle of Friends. This is an excellent time for scripture readings and a chance to say, "These are the brothers, sisters friends and family that will keep this couple accountable during the life of their marriage..."
A Second idea is doing a God's Knot. It requires a ring and three ropes or strands. This is a great alternative to a unity candle because the mothers of the bride and groom can carry one rope or strand down the aisle and take turns attaching them to the ring.  During the ceremony, the groom holds the ring and the bride braids the ropes together. The scripture associated with this ceremony is Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 which is below...

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

New International Version (NIV)
Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone?
12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

This is also called Rope Ceremony, Wedding Rope ...etc. If the ceremony is taking place outside this is a great alternative because you don't run the risk of the candle going out or the sand blowing in the wind. God's Knot kits can be purchased online or for those DIY brides, can be created with various colored ropes, rings to make it unique to the wedding.
A Third thought is to sign the marriage license during the wedding. This makes it more special than having the maid or matron of honor and the best man hurry to sign it post ceremony.  Sometimes, the bride and groom have already signed the wedding license at the court house but can "mock sign it" this depends on each states laws associated with obtaining the marriage license.
There are many ways to symbolize commitment and love during a wedding ceremony, these are just a few that we love and recommend to our brides.
Tell us your story! Let us know what you have seen, done or heard of that is different. We love finding new ideas to share with our brides.
