2016 Wedding Trends

As long time florists in the Knoxville area, we have seen the trends come and go.  2016 has been a year full of the most fabulous trends that we hope will stick around for awhile!!  Whether you are wanting to know trends across the wedding industry or specific floral trends, the images below are sure to give you some inspiration!  Check out our 6 top wedding trends of 2016 below!!

1.  ARBORS
Arbors are BIG this year!  And we could not imagine a more beautiful setting to pledge your forever love for each other under.  Many venues offer different styles, shapes, and designs.  Rental companies also carry a variety of arbors and arches.  Flowers and greenery are the perfect finishing touch on these arbors!  Whether you want an arbor dripping with flowers or just a touch of color, here are some examples of what we love to do!!

2.  FLORAL CROWNS
Romantic and lovely!  We are all about the floral crown, sometimes called flower halo.  The floral crown adds a light, delicate touch of flowers, while making the bride (or bridesmaids and flower girls) feel like Beyonce!  We can do simple greenery or a crown full of flowers.  Take a look at our flower queens below!  "I can see your halo halo halo..."

3.  BLUSH and GOLDS
Gold is in!!  The colors that we have seen consistently throughout the year are blush and gold.  These colors are romantic and classy, and we can't get enough!

4.  PERSONAL DETAILS
One of our favorite trends... Couples are straying away from formal traditions and adding special personal touches to their wedding details.  Think welcome chalkboards with greenery or floral garland.  Special bride and groom signs.  A cake made of cheese wheels.  Monogrammed ribbon. School pin boutonnieres. A canoe instead of a gift table (with a guestbook oar).  Superhero undershirts... Keep the personal details coming!!

5.  FLOWING RIBBON
What is more romantic than a satin ribbon blowing delicately in the wind?!  Not much... Take a look for yourself!

6.  MAN'S BEST FRIEND
We are "drooling" over this trend.  Seriously, we are in love.  Flower dogs and puppy ring bearers?  Yes, please!  Is there a better best man than man's best friend?  Fido is hard to beat.  We are sooo impressed with how well these pups behave!

Knoxville Winter Weddings - Lisa Foster Floral Design

In honor of having a snow covered Knoxville. Lisa Foster Floral Design is taking this opportunity to share some recent winter wedding pictures. As a Knoxville florist we don't see many snowy weddings but we love it, when it hits! Many winter weddings usually have all white florals with touches of evergreen or other greens mixed in. What a perfect way to show off crisp wintery whites! This winter season has brought us some really lovely winter bouquets.

Winter Bouquet
Traditional wedding florals usually involve whites and ivory flowers. When it comes to WINTERY wedding flowers there are a few things that can be added to take it over the top.
Winter Bridal Bouquet - Evergreens
Using evergreens really makes bouquets for winter weddings to a different level! Evergreens are beautiful, long-lasting, and smell fantastic. We've even used greens from our brides yards or family trees... it helps to add a touch of sentiment to the weddings.
December Wedding - Winter Bridesmaid Bouquet
We love the use of navy blue, gray and pops of green in these bouquets.
Baby's Breath Bouquets - Bridesmaids bouquets
Something that has been very popular this year has been the use of all baby's breath in bouquets. This inexpensive filler flower when used in abundance really looks elegant, soft and whimsical. This December wedding had all baby's breath for the bridesmaids. With the fur shrugs the Lisa Foster Floral Design team thought this was totally glam! We just love it!
Gray Berries - Dusty Miller - Winter Wedding
One trend in bridal bouquets and weddings in general is the color gray. Brides have been using this color as their bridesmaids dresses, table linens and suites for the men. It's a great neutral color and the sky is the limit for color combinations based off of gray. (gray and yellows, gray and pink, gray and green and navy...etc.)
Winter Wedding - Knoxville Tn - Baby's Breath Bouquets
With using all baby's breath for the bridesmaids this bride was able to splurge on her bouquet with adding anemones.
Blush Colored Bouquets - Winter Biltmore Wedding
We were fortunate enough to do a winter wedding at the Biltmore estate in December of 2012. It was a small intimate affair with close family and friends. What a magical place to get married! Knoxville winter weddings are wonderful. We love them and love our brides.
