We have lovely fall wreaths, plants and flowers! Which if you are looking for something different to send to someone as a birthday or other special occasion any of these would make an awesome gift. Blog Post About A Blog Post!

The internet is full of blogs, websites and endless wedding ideas and sources! This summer has brought us some very interesting and unique brides (which we have posted on earlier). Through many of the websites where we are featured on we often get published on blogs. Today we received a notice of being published on Elizabeth Anne Designs: The Wedding Blog which provides ideas and resources for brides looking to plan their weddings. We were featured with Dixie Pixel Photography, RT Lodge and All Occasions Party Rentals some of our friends and Knoxville wedding industry colleagues.
Our beautiful bride Jordan had rustic touches to her outdoor wedding at RT Lodge. Check out Elizabeth Anne Designs for more details and to see other great wedding ideas! See a sampling of the amazing images from our friends at Dixie Pixel below enjoy!

I Spy With My Little Eye ... LFFD NEW Sign!

As branding efforts progress here at Lisa Foster Floral Design. We can now check off the list marque sign! Our street sign if you have driven down Kingston Pike in the last 12 months has looked a little shabby (without the chic!). Since we are trying to coordinate all marketing materials with our beloved swoopy-flower design we thought what a great time to replace our sign! We wanted it to be bold and attention grabbing so we went with Lisa's favorite color as a back drop... PURPLE! Check it out! If you drive by at night let us know what you think of it all lit up!

Baby's Breath ... Really?

Recently, we have had an influx of brides wanting to use baby's breath for their weddings.

Let us state for the record, that there is nothing wrong with baby's breath.

Is this phenomenon due to Pinterest... for the DIY bride as an easy fluffy flower to put together. It is possible. Most brides these days are looking for soft, romantic, VINTAGE. Words we hear on a daily basis are twine, mason jar, burlap and rustic. Why are we drawn to that particular look? What is it that makes it feel so beautiful? I think we can blame the increase of lace usage on Kate Middleton... which Royals have been trend setters for centruies. Although, I doubt any part of Kate and William's big day had anything to do with a barn, mason jars or twine!
Baby's breath in the past has always been used as a filler flower. Not that we LFFD girls use it as filler flowers because it is not what we consider a premium flower.  Many flower shops use it which is fine but we usually don't. A fact that many don't know about baby's breath is that it is STINKY! Yes, it smells awful. It's a toss-up between cat "wee wee" and sweaty feet. Most of the time we have to spray it with fabric softener or fabric refresher spray just so we don't gag!
When it is bunched together by itself or with other wispy flowers it dose look like lace. It's soft and airy and gives you a bang for your buck. It is long lasting and can be used outside and holds up nicely.
The economy has reformulated the wedding industry as to how we put value on the important items. Most brides put value on the photography (which is the only thing that lasts after the wedding), venue, the dress and most of the time the flowers.  Flowers, are important but you can easily get away with getting budget friendly flowers that fit within your price point! If you are a DIY person then you can come up with simple and inexpensive ideas to make your wedding special and unique. Check out some photos of baby's breath ideas! Give us your feedback, have you seen baby's breath used in an interesting way? Let us know!

West High School 2012 Football Program

It is important to support local businesses, it is equally important for those local businesses to support the community. That is how living in a small town usually works and even though Knoxville's population is over 100,000 it functions like a small town. For the past several years Lisa Foster Floral Design has placed an ad with the West High School Football program which gives money toward the school. Thankfully this past Prom season we had one of our customers share some beautiful photos of her prom experience! Check out our ad when you are at the next WHS football game and save 10% on your next Homecoming or Prom order!
